Voting in Saugatuck Township

Township electors can vote in person at the Township Hall on Election Day, via an absentee ballot, or during the 9-day early voting period.

Absentee voting allows you to vote by mail. Absentee ballots must be requested in writing with an absentee voter application. Electors can request an absentee ballot through the Michigan Department of State. Learn more at the Michigan Voter Information Center.

Michigan voters also have the right to cast a ballot early and in person at an early voting site before Election Day. Learn more about this right including what it is, how it works, who can participate, where to go and when the early voting period is on the Michigan Department of State website.

Voting Identification Requirements

Satisfy Michigan’s voter identification requirement by doing one of the following:

1) showing a Michigan driver’s license or state ID card
2) showing any other acceptable form of picture ID*
3) signing an affidavit attesting that you do not have acceptable picture ID or forgot to bring acceptable picture ID to the polls

*Other forms of acceptable picture ID include any of the following as long as it is current: a driver’s license or state ID card issued by another state, federal or state government-issued photo ID, U.S. passport, military ID card with photo, student ID with photo from a high school or an accredited institution of higher education or tribal ID card with photo.
