Parks & Recreation 5-year Plan

Working together for a better tomorrow

Saugatuck Township maintains a current joint 5-Year Recreation Plan with the City of the Village of Douglas, Saugatuck City, and Saugatuck Public Schools. A main purpose of the plan is to facilitate collaborative planning in the Saugatuck-Douglas area among the local units of government and school district. This joint recreation plan is a means to accomplish regional planning of parks offerings and recreation opportunities while maintaining separate governmental control of facilities within each municipality or jurisdiction. Maintaining a current 5-Year Recreation Plan is required for local units of government to be eligible for grant opportunities with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
