Saugatuck Township is enhancing connectivity and outdoor recreation by extending the Blue Star Trail in two key areas:
- North Extension: From Amelanchier Park at Riverside Cemetery to the Blue Star Bridge over the Kalamazoo River.
- South Extension: From Wiley Road in Douglas to the Township’s southern border at M-89.
These expansions are a collaborative effort with the Friends of the Blue Star Trail, the City of Saugatuck, and the City of the Village of Douglas. The long-term vision is to create a seamless, scenic, and accessible non-motorized trail linking Holland to South Haven, providing a safer and more enjoyable route for walkers, runners, and cyclists.
