Blue Star Highway Safe Street Project
Blue Star Highway Safe Street Project
The Blue Star Highway Safe Street Master Planning Project is the first focus of the Safe Street Planning Committee. The purpose of the BSH project is to develop conceptual renderings for modifying the design of Blue Star Highway such that it better accommodates vehicular traffic, pedestrian activity, and existing business and residential development now and supports the community into the future. The project involves three parts
- Traffic Study: This analyzes vehicular volume, speed, destination, and turn counts. Data is being furnished through the application StreetLight, which tracks car movements.
- Conceptual Design Development: This process transitions Blue Star Hwy from a through road to a street. It is supported by both traffic data and public input.
- Zoning Audit: We will review current zoning to ensure it supports desired development patterns. This process also incorporates public input.
The project will produce a final report with recommendations and street design recommendations that the Township can utilize as a blue print for future street projects.
