Township Hall Exterior Redesign
Township Hall Exterior Redesign
Following the successful interior remodel of Township Hall in 2023, the Saugatuck Township Board of Trustees has approved plans for major exterior and site upgrades. This project will transform the building and surrounding space into a more welcoming, accessible, and pedestrian-friendly community hub along the Blue Star Highway Corridor.

Building Improvements
- Clearly defined, accessible entrance
- Resurfaced façade for a refreshed look
- Updated exterior lighting and new Township signage
- Covered walkway to provide comfort during elections and community events
Site Enhancements
- Relocation of the parking lot to the rear of the building
- Conversion of the front lot into a pedestrian plaza
- Addition of a rain garden, drought-tolerant landscaping, and new trees
These upgrades build on community input and guidance from the Lakeshore Disability Network to ensure accessibility for all residents.
A Broader Vision
This project reflects the Township’s long-term goal of creating a walkable, connected Blue Star Highway Corridor that supports housing, mixed-use development, and improved pedestrian infrastructure.
